Wimbledon: Men’s quarterfinals

Djokovic – Fucsovics

Novak was broken once during his straight-set quarterfinal win. The toughest moment of the match for him was probably a couple of his slips.

Then to face this question at the start of your press conference. eek.

Djokovic’s reaction, probably.

Shapovalov – Khachanov

Less than a year ago, Shapovalov had lost a heartbreaker when trying to reach his maiden slam semi at the US Open. He rallied from 1-2 down in sets to make it happen this time.

It wasn’t always easy.

In the end, it all felt great, beating Karen, 6-3, 4-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4. Never in doubt that they would go to five sets

Although, apparently, he has tasted such success as a child!

Big props to Karen.

Hurkacz – Federer

Roger’s grass return ends with a straight-set defeat to first-time slam quarterfinalist Hurkacz.

There were some sprinkles of magic.

But for the most parts, it was just a compilation of mis-hits and shanks. And one unfortunate slip to create this surreal moment.

Some history was made with that bagel final set. Federer’s second-ever 6-0 set loss since 1999.

All credit to Hubi for never letting Federer come back in, even in the second-set tiebreak.

Berrettini – Auger Aliassime

Queens champion Berrettini is back into a slam semifinal (2019 US Open). He dropped the second set but beat Felix in four.

Meanwhile, big development in the women’s doubles. Vesnina and Kudermetova beat top seeds Krejcikova’/Siniakova to reach the semis.

They beat the Czechs, 9-7 in the decider, and this feat was not achieved by always standing on feet.

We are leaving you with this incredibly funny Mo Lahyani moment.
